The Chamber Report
The Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce’s new radio show focuses on business in the greater Nashua area. Each week, “The Chamber Report” will broadcast with the intent of keeping its members, the community and government leaders informed about a series of issues of importance to the business community.
The show will be hosted by broadcast veteran, Ed Lecius. From 1946-1983 the name Lecius was synonymous with radio in Nashua. His dad began at the former WOTW (now WGHM) in 1946 and moved over to WSMN in 1958. Young Ed joined his dad on the air doing high school football games while still in school (using Lee Edwards) and upon graduation worked with him full time until his death in 1976 at WSMN.
In 1983, shortly after becoming the radio voice of the Nashua Angels Double-A minor league baseball team, Ed stepped away from the microphone to join the administration of former Governor John H. Sununu. He kept his finger in radio continuing to broadcast the annual Turkey Bowl between Nashua and Bishop Guertin. In fact, Ed did the first and last NHS-BG games and still broadcasts the annual Thanksgiving Day game between North and South.
After his stint with Governor Sununu and the first Bush administration he returned to Nashua as President and General Manger for WMVU (formerly WOTW and now WGHM). When that group sold the station, Ed joined the Nashua Chamber as Director of Programs until joining the Nashua Police Department as Community Policing Coordinator.
